Why would you need a KamLing KJIP-S relay

Hi chaps, I am trying to work out the wiring on a newly purchased sub, not helped by the changes of wire colours a number of times along the run. I have come across a Kam Ling KJIP-S relay and to be honest I am not sure why it’s there. It looks like it was wired to a small black box on a servo which controlled the air pump. As I am removing the air pump and it’s servo and going back to a water pump. I would be removing the Kam Ling relay, but would like to know out of interest what it’s used for. Does anyone have any idea. Thanks.

Just guessing here, but the "small black box" is likely a microswitch. Servo hits it and the switch triggers the relay, which in turn shoots power to the pump. Likely the micro switch didn't have the capacity to handle the current of the pump, hence the need for the relay.

Thanks, that maybe it. I will check it out with a multi meter to see if it gives out any current.
