I prefer smaller boats, easier to transport, and more flexible where you can sail them.

There isn't really anything new out there when it comes to model submarines, it's all just variations on a theme. There are only so many ways of pushing water about after all.

The electronics are smaller and much more rugged now, and a heck of a lot cheaper. Batteries have also come on a lot, and will be significantly improved on current standards in the next few years (probably tenfold improvement in capacity when they crack the manufacturing issues for sold state lithium and sodium batteries).

Thanks to the internet it's much easier than it used to be to find supplies and get information on items- that used to be a huge struggle when I first got into the hobby.

Whereabouts in the UK are you located?

Hi Sub, my main hobby is model live steam locomotives, and cheap never comes too mind when talking about that. I am in Yeovil, luckily for me a local chap owns two large Body’s of water I can use.
