Your'e a gear-head from way back!
OMG, people still fly u/c!? And that's the old Cox 'trainer' with rubber-banded wings. Tough little bird. So, did your kids master it or did they quickly reduce that plane back to kit form?

In the last picture you can see us picking up the pieces. I'm a pretty experienced control line flyer from way back when my Dad got me into it back in the early 70s when I was a kid. So when my oldest son Zachary(the dark haired one) informed me that he wanted to fly radio control airplanes, I got an idea. So I figured, before we spend all that money, lets try control line first. After I finally found one he informed me that he didn't need my help. So I let him fly it without any instruction. After he crashed it three times and it was no longer flyable, he agreed to let me show him. After the plane was repaired I would fly it until it ran out of fuel and then land it, refuel and fly again. At that point he lost interest. Ive always loved small model engines, the noisier the better. He doesn't like loud things. Just barely does he consent to use the lawn mower and weed wacker. Of course this is a few years back. Now hes taller than I am, with an attitude to boot. The youngest one, Nathan and me are best buds. He thinks that im the coolest Dad in the world. Poor kid. I dont have the heart to tell him any different.Last edited by greenman407; 01-18-2012, 02:49 PM.IT TAKES GREAT INTELLIGENCE TO FAKE SUCH STUPIDITY!Comment
