Tandem X18 options

Kinda new to working with ETHOS and the radio. In my setup i have a pump running to fill a syringe for ballast. I had it set up for the rear slider up as surface (empty syringe) and down (fill syringe). 21 seconds at 25% motor speed ontthe pump did the job. Was attempting to automate the timing to automatically keep track of time and cut off after the 21 seconds fill/empty. tring google in AI mode and then microsoft copilot to figure out how to program both kept coming up with commands or options i don't seem to have on mine? at first i kept thinking the AI was just doing its usual can;t get there from here thing. the AI finally figured out i didn't have the latest firmware. So i went thru all the process to update the firmware - in the process learning the radio didn't see the SD card so no backup and theupdate blewa away my backups on the radio.

Given all that i i still don't have all the options the AI thought i should have after updating. A few things i don't see that were mentioned are preferences - don't see them anywhere, same goes for sequencers, don't see them or theyre buried somewhere.

CoPilot kept trying to tell me i have the X18 lite and that it only has a basic command set, not the full suite. Anyone have any idea how to verify that I have the latest full featured version of the firmware or how to intall the latest and whee it is (a link).

FYI in the process got the SD card working, had to go down to an 8gb card and format it thru the radio while connected to the ethos suite on my pc to do so.

I've never seen any differences in Ethos between radios. Those of us with the X18 simply have a couple less switches to select from. MIne is on version 1.6.3 for the example below.

Putting the ballast system on a analogue control isn't recommended because you don't need that much variability. A three position switch is ideal - up is surface, middle is hold, and down is dive.

I use timers to control the bilge pumps on my combat ships, so it is fairly easy to do. Under logic switches, create a timer function that is on for your 21 seconds. Then set a brief off period. During the off period you need to deactivate the switch (move to middle). Now add a mix that uses the logic switch name to activate your pump - not the physical switch.
