People will go to great lengths to tease you with pictures but then disable downloading of them so I have to go to great lengths then to get them by taking a print screen of them . Ill show em!

All those dents on the fairings around the compressor inlets, and the dents on the bullet fairings too. Bird strikes? If so, one reason the WIG was not pursued. What a magnificent beast!

WIG / ekranoplans are pretty awesome ways to get huge items moving at speed skimming over the surface of the water. This one looks like it could pass everything but a fuel barge. No doubt that bird strikes would be a huge problem in the 20-50 foot altitude that this would likely work best at. (These vehicles depend on the increased lift that occurs close to the surface.)

I assume that the missiles would be fired while the WIG was sitting on the surface rather than flying. But it would be pretty interesting to be onboard when the missiles started firing...no matter where you were.
