    Why 3" Cylinders are obsolete

The new D&E 2.5 Sub-driver is a huge improvement on the 3" diameter system because it is smaller in diameter. This provides more annular space between the cylinder and inside of the hull for easier placement of weight and foam.

Though the 2.5 is less in diameter it has 1.5 more ounces of floodable volume in its ballast tank --this makes the SD adaptable to a wider selection of submarine hulls than the WTC-3 it replaces.

Here you can see all the parts required to get operational.

You can see the Snort tubes penetrating the end-cap. These are fitted with plastic tubes that run to the Snort Pump inside the Sub-driver. Externally, the plumbing block is fitted over them to redirect the tubes forward.

    The plumbing block installed.
Stop messing about - just get a Sub-driver!

I like that very innovative looking connector you use to couple the servo output and bow plane rod together.

          David/Mike,

Is it possible to purchase these assorted "things" separately?

Not at this time, Dan. The logistics involved in breaking up the parts of a SD and offering them separately is just too time consuming a task.

              Hi David and Mike
was wondering what the G/box ratio was and motor spec Voltage etc?
Also IF you wanted to drop a stick 7.2 Nimh in there - I take it would fit given the 3" did and the battery compartment looks longer?

              Its a fine product indeed.

Are we going to see a 3.5" re-modelled with a forward connected battery compartment too in either kit or assembled form?

                3:1.

The motor is a 12-volt unit. The battery space is sized for the 3,000mAh, 11.1-volt Lithium-polymer pack.

There are plans for a re-worked 3.5 SD down the road, yes.
