ID:	92232 The harsh white streaking before and after laying down a well thinned base very dark-gray 'color' to tone things down. Once this dries (which happens very quickly as I have switched to water soluble acrylics at this point), I lay down a protective clear coat (back to the two-part ChromaClear automotive grade product) to protect the work.

There is total compatibility between the water soluble acrylics and Dow Corning ChromaColor and ChromaClear paint systems. This is not a happy accident -- it's the result of experiment and specification sheet reading!

Not all paint systems got along with each other!

    Ain't that right, Mark!?.....

Be careful when spraying two part paints and lacquers. Most of them have a lot of nasties in them like isocyanates (if that sounds a bit like cyanide, you're on the right path). Unlike single part paints like the old cellulose lacquers, which can get you a bit light headed if you spray in a confined space, this stuff can really mess you up long term. For instance even light exposure can induce industrial asthma.

If you value your health always spray these paints with an pressure air fed mask, and unless you're in a filtered booth, make sure you're well away from anyone else who might breath in any bounce.

Aha! Memories!!! In the days I was a distributor for Belzona (Google it), I sold a product called Ceramic Cladding to Unigate to coat a milk tanker. It was a special Unigate color, Azo Orange, and was my ticket to riches as thousands of tankers were to be coated. They asked me to get the material applied and I engaged a guy with a small spray booth to do the job. He was a blond, blue eyed fellow, and unbeknown to me (because it was vogue to not disclose MSDS information in those days, this guy turned purple in the face, had serious respiratory problems, and his skin came up in a violent rash. He used a normal paint mask which was, of course, totally inadequate. He nearly died.
Unigate checked into the material and found isocyanates were involved and refused to use the material, and I ended up with a shattered dream of buying a Lear Jet and a Jaguar.
Lesson learned about isocyanates. And remember, spraying any twin pack material and then inhaling the particles will end up with them in your lungs and solidifying therein! As for epoxies, I have been involved with them most of my working life and have seen numerous colleagues become totally allergic to them. One friend, who smoked and got the epoxy crap all over him on every job he did, ended up with lung cancer. His wife watched him die, coughing up his lungs onto their lounge carpet.
Stop messing about - just get a Sub-driver!
