    Revell gato 1/72 what happened?

I was toying around purchasing another 1/72 Gato for a special project. I find that they are no longer available , at least that I can find. I saw some for $584.00 but surely its a joke. Right?

It's a seller's market. But that is just stupid pricing.

Injection formed kits go in and out of production -- only so many machines on the planet, and so, so many tools that need a good squirt every now and then.

Be patient, it'll be released again. Sooner than later me thinks.

I bought a 1/72 Gato, I dont know, when they first came out. Bought a sail and sonar dome kit from Iron Botton sound for it, with the intent to make a Fleet snorkel out of it. RC she would have been. Along came the forced seperation and divorce and the elimination of much of my property. I fear that it was destroyed out of spite. So I am toying around with the idea of making what would have been........again. I think I paid $99 from Tower Hobbies back then when they first hit the market. The sail(High Atlantic) and big sonar dome will set me back about $90 as well. I hope Caswell still makes the Gato Sub-driver and associated Gato hardware. I especially want the folding and operating bow planes. (singing) "when you wish upon a star,,,makes no difference who you are"(alto soprano)

                    Hi again

You have the urge to travel North to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls and FREEZE your bits off? We could meet and you could get the submarine.

I picked up on from Canada via evil-bay. Freight was a killer in cost and time and now with all the subdriver parts here it's planned as the next project. One of the things to work out is attaching the sail so I can access the sas side of things as I glued the sail on my previous one.
                      Cheers,
                      Alec.
