    Help With Caswell SD Seals

    Hello

Not meant to anger He Who Shall Not Be Named but your shaft seals for props and control rods, can they be used with the air bag system where air is drawn out of the WTC and into the pressure bag in the ballast section then drawn back to the WTC without mods to the shaft seals? Or what has to be done to the seals for them to be able to be used? This is the other type of system that has no compressed air tank or breather.

Thanks Oh Master of the Cylinder.

Hurrumph! ... Outrage! ... Righteous Indignation!!!!

    Sure, they can.

Just as long as you're not over-pressurizing the interior of the cylinder. Things will be watertight as long as the cylinder is either at one-atmosphere or anything between that and a hard vacuum. Things start leaking (big time, as the two end-bulkheads will pop off) if the cylinder is a few PSI higher than ambient.
