OTW twin shaft to single shaft conversion

I am working up my USS Wisconsin build, and am looking at my 4.25" OTW twin scrrew WTC and thinking about using it for the Wisconsin.

Anyone make this change over before? any issues?

I would envisage that will involve an exchange of endcap and equipment tray in the stern compartment. An alternative would be to use either both motors with a gearbox running in the wet to drive a single shaft, or one of them alone with a gearbox or pulley to account for the offset. That would also allow you to use the module in a twin shaft hull.

Does one running motor have enough power to run the boat? If so, have a disconnect on the unused motor and run the drive train to the operating motor.

Given the performance of my R10 on a single OTW can, I am not worried about performance.

I have an old sub-driver that I use on both single and twin screw subs without any issues. It will work with one powered motor free spinning as well but I think the free spinning motor wouldn't last too long.
