The U-1 is not open to the public currently

I went to Munich for a Bier run for a few days with friends.

One of my objectives was seeing the U-1. It is not on the current guides they have on the ground at the Museum. According to the staff, that entire wing has been under renovation since 2021, and will not be open for a few more years.

The Bier was excellent, as was the food, so still a good trip.

So you've been close by. Munich is about 1 1/4 hours drive from me. Glad you enjoyed the trip. Munich is beautiful.
