    British Draft Marks

An Easter egg for our across-the-pond friends; What is the unit of measure for Draft Marks on Royal Navy submarines? We use 6" figure height and 6" space in between. I think the Brits use decimeters, but it could also be nano-hectares or milli-parsecs for all I know.

    Take care,

Happy Easter, Happy Passover, Happy Whatever!

    Metres, with subdivisions of fifths of a metre, so for instance between 1M and 3M, the markings will look like 1M 2, 4, 6 ,8 2M 2 ,4 ,6 ,8, 3M

So, there must be an older system, as used on Trafalgar and Upholder? Those boats don't have the meter marks (1M). Thank you for the help!

Earlier boats seem to use decimetres. Still metric, just different units.

Depends on n the ti period. In WW2 Roman numerals were used. I know HMS Meteorite, (not your typical fleet ui nt admittedly used Roman numerals. Later small red letters on SSN and SSBN an SS . Exception being the leading edge of the top rudder see a T class SSN below) , where the draft numbers where blue while the rest were red. The blue only area was for the dive officer to watch the boats angle on diving observed through the pericope.
