I am starting this thread to hopefully serve as a place where Dive Tribe members can post subjects which they would like covered in the biweekly Dive Tribe zoom meeting. I encourage members to add topics no matter how simple or complex. If a reasonable list of topics is developed here, it might be very helpful to put the topic in the Dive Tribe invitation email.
Here is my first suggestion: Although I have built a number of radio control surface ships, I am new to the construction of submarines. Some of the materials in submarines I have not used in surface ships. For this reason I would be interested in a topic devoted to fillers, adhesives, and plastic welding. Which fillers work best with the various printed and foam medias? What is the best adhesive for “unrelated medias” (ex. foam to ABS). What are some disastrous adhesive/media combinations? Specific links where you can get some of the more unusual fillers and adhesive?
Some of this is covered in David Merriman’s suoerb Gato build videos and likely in a number of other places on this forum. However, some of the information might be outdated since new products seem to be coming out all the time and it would be nice to have a current focused topic.
