Holiday Project - BSG Viper MK1 (Moebius)

After all the CAD design work, the Shchuke, 3 x U1, I needed a break from submarines and ultra small parts. So time for my old Sci Fi love Battlestar Galactica and my favorite space fighter, the original Viper (Buck Roger's Thunderfigter would be #2). This is an easy and fast build, few big parts and a simple pant scheme. Neded plenty of filling and sanding, but all on easy surfaces, so no big deal. I'm going to make this a flight display in a book nook, that will go into one of the double T-beams under the ceiling of my apartment, similar to the Discovery display. Gonna be good to have a Viper around protecting the flat ;-)

With respect to subarines: I'll post some photos of the begining of the Vesikko with interior later today...no CAD but hrdware.

Painted the hull with Tamiya primer gray and then I pushed the base color with a thin layer Vallejo wite gray into the desired direction. After that the details were hand painted. Currently I'm applying the decals, which is kinda tricky, as the decals are thick and the surface is uneven. Requires tons of setting solution, but I'm getting there....

I finished applying the decals and then went for weathering. I started with a gray filter, followed by gray wash for shadows, dirt and, streaks, and then black wash for accents. Some white dry brushing to accentuate edges and a final satin clear coat. Finally the plot found his seat and then the canopy finished the build. Next is the display box....
