This is a true submarine. Not one of those you see running with decks awash. The mast is a combination snort and photonic system ( video camera connected to monitors inside the hull)

David, didn't you say you got a visit a visit from the DEA or Homeland Security a while back?

Well I wouldn't be surprised if the raiding team found some laptops showing the drug sub builders logging on everyday on this forum or another or even getting monthly subscriptions to magazines.
Would be very easy for them to pose as a nubie asking how to build a sub and just scale everything up.

It was Homeland Security. A team of three I think. Came over, presented their credentials (two of them were FBI), and asked about a 1/32 Type-7 model I received via a private shipper. I broker these things. I gave them the tour, informed them of the capabilities of an r/c submarine running in salt-water (that's where the Navy lives), the approximate volume available for explosives, likely control/guidance schemes, etc.

They took their notes, asked good questions, were respectful of my time, and moved along.

It was gratifying to see the Fed's thinking outside-the-box like that. Likely why we have not been clobbered since 9-11. Thank you, George Bush!

Since then I was approached and began a correspondence with an Iranian firm that specialized in r/c toys. CC' ed the FBI through their site, but never received any acknowledgment or warnings/guidance as to the level of my cooperation. I can only assume (and hope) that Big Brother is watching such Internet chatter. Scary ****.

                  David,

At least they know how to distress the sides of their subs...
