    Looking for Type 2 plans

The title says it all. I am actually thinking of scratch building one more time while I still can. I have an old Merriman WTC with two screws looking for a home and why not a 1/48 scale Type 2? I haven't been able to find decent plans with bulkheads. That's all I need to make myself a hull kit. I might consider making a few kits.

    Thanks for any help guys.

Eberhard Rossler's book The U-Boat has a drawing of the immediate predecessor of the Type-II the Finnish submarine CV707 Vesikko including frame lines. On the page with the drawing of Vessiko there is also are frame drawings of a Type-II (IvS Design J7) and there is drawing of a Type-IID later in the book.

Hello sir, type 2 U-boat drawings may be rare, I have VIIC, IXC, IXD2, 1A, XB U-boat drawings, but I don't have type 2. Some of my plans are high precision paper models that can be used for sketch building . If you need I can share them with you, just tell me the type of U-boat.

Geeze! Here I thought I wasn't getting an answer and then I found all this. And Gantu! I'm so glad to hear from you. And yes David is right.

It would seem I'm not subscribed to the threads I have been making. I stay pretty busy and have so much going on I haven't checked here in days. I can't thank you all enough for the help. I still have a boat left in me and I haven't just got out the formers, foam, and a hot bow to cut a hull in a long time. I miss it. something about building a boat all by hand that just enthralls me. The real boats were built that way. I just don't want to get into printers. I've learned enough software for movie effects and 3D animation to coke a horse.

Hand craft is just so satisfying it's an addiction for those capable.

Now to come up with the right scale to match David's old Gato cylinder. I was thinking 1/48?

And BTW it was asked, what version? The Type 2 A.

Thanks so much again. You people are wonderful and passionate about the hobby!

This is the length I get at 1/48 scale. It should be just long enough to fit Davids Gato cylinder. 2.795833333333333 I/35 is too large.

OK did the math again vs. the 1/72 scale Gato and 1/35 scale it is at 3.834285714285714 inches in length.
Can someone double check me on this. David will this fit your cylinder? I'm not at my studio today or I could check the length of the Gato cylinder. Thanks to all.
