Applying and curing resin on PLA and other FDM filaments is an established technique that yields good results as long as small tolerance details aren't accidently filled in. This video goes over the various methods of FDM-printed layer line reduction. The resin application begins just before 5:00. He recommends curing the resin in direct sun, but I would not recommend leaving PLA in direct sun for more than a couple of minutes to minimize warping.
