    Bob's book is out!

Surprised nobody else mentioned this here. I assume Bob can't as it might be considered advertising?

At any rate, the long awaited "RC subs for dummies" book by Bob Martin is now available. I ordered my copy this morning over at the Drydocks. Hopefully Bob will sign it. I love books autographed by the author.

I find the title funny "Diving deep". Yeah right, especially with 2.4 GHz. :)

Regardless I can't wait to get my copy and read it. I'm such a newbie, I bet there is a thousand things I'll learn from it. And that's precisely the point: So the old guard (as in experienced RC subbers) no longer have to answer the trivial stuff from folks like me.

Bob asked me to read over an early draft of the manuscript. I made some useful suggestions as to changes he might consider (one must tread lightly with a new author). Changes such as inclusion of a glossary, brief bio's of innovator's past and present; and a title change from Balls Deep, to something more like the current title. Little things like that.

        ROFL at the title

I'm proof reading for two authors currently, so I know about treating their feelings. :)

Reality is that nothing is as brutal to an author as being denied or snubbed by an editor. Dont ask me how I know.

Or informing them that their real talent awaits fulfillment at the handle-end of a shovel. "Hey, kid. You wanna be respected or liked? Pick one!"

Trust me... I would happily self-promote (it's my damned site, after all!). I've just been swamped, utterly and completely.

Yep! Book is out. I've sent out notifications to my Drydocks subscribers, extended a hefty discount to DiveTribe members, posted to Facebook, and I'm in the middle of making a video for YouTube.

I've blown through about 50 copies already and I have another 50 coming. You can also order through Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Here is the Drydocks order page (I make a few extra bucks if you order direct, and I'll sign the book, too), and here is the Outskirts book page.

What's with the grin on the picture? Left over pain killers from TX or just so darn happy the thing is finally out and you don't have to chase that one anymore?

I'm familiar with both reasons, so couldn't put a finger on it. :)

That's his, cat-ate-the-canary look. And... yeah... he might consider backing off on the pain-killers.

Just received my signed copy, thanks Bob!

The book is simply wonderful: Great format, practical, covering all the topics, easy to read and with lots of helpful and/or great pictures. Exactly what the hobby needed.

Job well done. Actually more than well, bravo Bob and Dave for the bonus section.

Only thing missing was a foreword by Jacques Cousteau. :)
