A New Miniature Underwater Video camera

I've just done some trials on this neat little camera, to see how the quality of the video is for Youtube and you can judge it for yourself.

I like this camera because it is very small, 7cm long and about 2 cm wide. It is also lightweight, over all 1/2 the size and weight of the Oregon Scientific camera.

I took some video in my saltwater aquarium, and although the camera-work sucks, it should at least give you some idea of the video quality.

I'm working on buying a bunch of them, I reckon they'll be about $65.00 retail (depending on shipping and quantity). Chinese origins Oh! Really! Good grief! - are there NO American manufacturers left? I live 5 minutes from the greatest camera company ever (Kodak) and they can't churn out this cheap little camera here? Its sickening!

2 orings on the endcap, which slides over the body. OK to 10-12 feet deep.

                Thanks Mike,

That depth seems well within the bounds of normal sailing requirements.

is it compatible with MACS as well as PCs?
Also you said she was 7cm long and about 2cm across, could I please push you for more precise measurements, I want to see if she'll fit inside the DSRV's main body tube.

                  3.25" long x 1 & 5/16" diameter
Positively buoyant = 50% submerged in freshwater Mr. Merriman says this is a B I G plus.
Also includes a/c adapter to charge on board battery
Micro 2gb Micro SD card on board - can be swapped out for 16 gb card.
On a Mac (I use one) the camera is recognised by IPhoto, and files can easily be deleted from the Micro SdCard.

Looks like I might be able to do a deal and be able to sell these for about $60.

                    Thanks Mike,
keep me posted on price and when you get them in.
Dave's right the Positive Buoyancy in this is a real bonus, as I would add is the on board battery charging.
                    a good find.

Found this at a local electronics retail shop

Looks just like the Oregon Scientific camera.

                      Price is about $42.
