What brought this up is the photo of a Type 9 with light hatches. Even ones in the shadows show their gray characteristic. This supports the fact that they painted the hatches gray and at the time of capture, the U505 had been out on patrol for a while. Fellows, the black paint has chipped and pealed all over that boat. I do have clear close up pictures of the decks, I'm trying my best to salvage the 6000 ot so u boat pictures that I have conglomerated the last fifteen or so years. Power supply burnt out of the old PC. I can try to remember the source, and load em up.
