    Snorkel float valve assembly

How are snorkel float valves sold?
do they come with the subdrivers ordered for your boat or do you order one separately too fit you project as one sd can fit in many different hulls.
When you use the sas on board air too surface the the fv opens too break the vacuum, does the vacuum not hold the float seated ?
is there enough weight / moment in the fv arm too break the seal once you broach the surface?
I have a few SD I purchased from Bob's clearance bin but have not used the sas with a float valve.
    thank you

I don't know why I put up with you Canadian snow-creatures!???

Our SAS type SD's are sold with a snorkel (float) valve. But, if you need extra snorkel valves for multiple hulls using the same SD I'll send you extras, no sweat.

Yes, the partial vacuum created in the SD when blowing using on-board air acts on the snorkel valve rubber element and intake nipple to hold them up against one another tight. The force is a function of differential pressure between atmosphere and inside of the SD; as well as the internal area of the intake nipple. I minimize the intake nipple area (only .030" inside diameter) and add enough weight to the base of the float to insure gravity will overcome the 'holding force' presented at the nipple-rubber element. Through experiment I determined the amount of weight the float has to be to still 'float' when displacing water, yet having the oomph to pull the valve open on a nearly evacuated SD cylinder once the snorkel mechanism is above water.
