This is a nice little find. Perhaps it will help out some of you KILO modellers out there.

        Nice picts, thanks.

Some day when im bored Im gonna whip up one of those pumpjets to make an addon kit to my Kilo for the Alrosa version. Not a high priority but would be fun to build and tool up.

Just a general question. I see other sub models with pump jets of various designs and while they may look nice I've wondered how well they work at these scales given such things as:

          a) You can't scale a water molecule, and

          b) The Reynold's numbers would be different.

          Just wondering,

You just keep building them till you get the 'feel' of what works and what does not. Works for me. Just don't ask me the process.

Your right about the reynolds number thing. Its no concern though. Model planes fly just fine, despite the high numbers, and model jet pumps work just fine too.

Is that the anchor chain coming out the bottom right of the sub in the last photo? On the Kilo it came out of a circular hatch on the side.

Speaking of Kilo, this is probably my favorite set of picts:

Those pictures of the Kilo are perfect, absolutely clear. Unfortunately a lot of the pictures available today are not the modern digital stuff but older, dark , grainy, out of focus pictures. Pictures such as you posted are the ideal.
