  • Loss of signal - what should happen by default

    Friends,

I have just modified (for about the 4th time) my Small World Models Blueback. This time I added a KMC ADF1 and a SNORT system, Pix will follow of the SNORT install. I am using a SOMBRA SL-8 receiver which has programmable fail safes. This is how I programmed them. I am looking for feedback to see if I chose the right fail safes.

    On loss of XMTR signal:

    1) Motor stops,
    2) Ballast system is set to blow ballast, and
    3) SNORT is turned on.

Does this look OK? Is there more I could have done?

    Thanks for your time,

    Dan

Good defaults with the exception of the LPB.

You don't want a boat sitting on the bottom for hours with the LPB motor running -- you'll kill the Lithium-polymer battery. Also, if one of those cast rubber diaphragm pump elements tears, you'll flood the SD.

On loss of signal, the LPB pump-motor remains off.
