  • SUBFEST 2020 - Event charity raffles

In addition to the on site raffle prizes that will be available at the event, Ed Tordahl has generously donated a pair of superb RC submarine hull offerings, 100% of the the proceeds of which will be donated to a pair of highly deserving charities.

Here is the information and the links to purchase your tickets (though no purchase is required by law).

  • #2
RAFFLE PRIZE #1 : Ray Mason Disney Nautilus in 1/48 scale:

Offered in conjunction with the upcoming SUBFEST 2020 RC Submarine Fun Run and Regatta on September 18th to 20th, 2020.

Support the American Cancer Society through the purchase of these raffle tickets. All proceeds will go to the ACS to help fund cancer research.

One raffle ticket will be awarded for each $10 purchase.

In order to comply with Florida law, there is no purchase necessary to win. If you elect, (for whatever reason), to "purchase" a ticket at no cost, please use the "free ticket" option above and limit your purchase to a single entry.

    ABOUT THE MODEL KIT:

The Ray Mason Disney Nautilus model kit is considered by many to be one of the "holy grails" of Disney Nautilus kits. Done in roughly 1/48 scale, the kit features superb details, thousands of hand-placed rivets, sturdy fiberglass construction and much more.

This particular kit has been generously donated by Ed Tordahl. It is in brand new condition, but bear in mind that it was manufactured over ten years ago and there may be slight warping or discoloration to some parts in line with its age.
For a sample of what could be done with this kit from a building perspective, check out the Nautilus Drydocks build video on YouTube here.

      ABOUT THE MODEL KIT:

This kit was generously donated by Ed Tordahl. According to Ed:

"The bow was scribed and openings for tubes 1-3, VLS 15 & 16. Sail is scribed too.
The Stern was complete but had suffered damage yet completely restored professionally, just need to open up MBT flood holes there. Prop bushing in place. Midsection is opened as shown for access and contains a DeBoer Ballast tank. The get a DeBoer Gas tank and 6V Cippard valve as well. There are no stern planes and one stern plane is missing the fwd stabilizer. They can reach out to Lee Upshaw of Scale Shipyard or cast themselves. That's a D & E prop sized for 3/16". I also added a bow plane from the other should they want a 688I, they can cast a 2nd."

The kit is in started new condition, but bear in mind that it was manufactured a while ago and there may be slight warping or discoloration to some parts in line with its age.

Another awesome raffle prize up for grabs to all (even non-attendees!):
RAFFLE PRIZE #3 : Upgraded and Customized Thundertiger Neptune

            PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS HERE!

            ABOUT THE MODEL KIT:

The Thundertiger Neptune is one of the most capable and over-engineered RC submarines ever available. Now out of production, the Neptune was a superb boat, capable of full static diving using it's pump-based ballast system. The boat is also riddled with additional features such as automatic failsafe and camera tether seals for full video submerged operations (using a separate video camera, not included).

This particular boat is in Brand New Condition and has undergone upgrades, including a new, high-efficiency propeller, upgraded battery, upgraded ballast pump, and a complete rework of the hull in the "Steampunk" feel.
