It's been brought to my attention, on at least a couple of occasions, that someone out there is peddling in Thunder Tiger submarines and isn't an authorised Great Planes distributor, and its a part-time venture out of a basement. Because they don't get any price breaks, it would appear that they buy the boats from a local hobby shop and then mark them up by $300, selling the boat at around $800. How? Well, their line is that TT electronics suck, this sucks, that sucks and so they rebuild the boat.

I had a long chat with some of the Great Planes guys at the Chicago show, and like me, they believe there are no problems with this model's electrics or anything else.

Great Planes has recently taken over the Thunder Tiger product line from the now defunct Ace Hobby company, and their dealer application requirements seem to be specifically designed to exclude part-time basement dealers.

There is certainly no justification in paying an extra $300 for this model.
Stop messing about - just get a Sub-driver!

      Hi Kazzer ,
you are so right about that someone is taking advantage of the public and saying there’s many problems with the sub and convincing the customer on doing repairs then charging more money to make a bigger profit and adding their own accessories to raise the price up higher. Then selling it for much more that’s a rep off so people should be aware of basement people trying to peddle the Neptune for more then it’s worth.

Hi everyone I got this boat from a friend that bought it brand new but ran into money troubles with his home and i was able to get it at a great price of $300 it's never been used he says. when i saw it i turned it on and everything seem to be in good working order but now i see a problem with my new Neptune tiger submarine it was a gift for my son's 13th birthday and I’m trying to figure out what’s wrong with it. I noticed when i turn it on i will get small glitches the rudder, and the planes, will glitch a little but not much, but when i turn on the motor at any speed the ballast pump will glitch a lot and then stop and start up again almost like the motor to the prop is causing some kind of interference with the ballast pump why is it doing this. Please help I’m stuck.
Does the antenna need to be moved else ware? I was also told there’s a adjustment on the CPU or something like this that controls when the fail safe kicks in and it may be dialed in far to low of voltage level . When i put on the prop motor, the power is being drained below a voltage, level i think causing the Ballast pump, to glitch kicking in the fail safe, to go off and on i need some serious help !
