    Revell type IX rc conversion

Hello to everybody! I'm from Italy and after a schnellboot and a type VII, i'm starting with a new project: a conversion of Revell type IX with static dive.
I was thinking about a snort ballast system and two 400 motors. What do you think guys?

Maybe you did this already, but David has a build he started here is were he begins talking about his WTC: http://forum.sub-driver.com/showthre...ht=revell+type

Maybe this will help with motor size.
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

I read all the thread about Dave's type IX before start my project! I've got a 50 mm dia (46 int.) plexi tube and i was thinking to use it for my wtc. With that measures i must choose if use 1 type 400 motor with reduction or 2 smallest (i don't know the size) that i've bought to use on my Italeri MAS. Altenatively i can choose for a 60 mm dia plexi tube (54 internal). In this case i can use two type 400. Battery is a nimh 7.2 V.
                What are u-cup seals?

They're generally installed with the face that you're looking at
pointing towards the prop! Water can't enter against the seal.

I know them! In Italy sometes they're called "corteco" aka "simmerring" (in Germany). I used one to seal the shaft in my LA class (still work in progress...).
Yesterday i worked on the hull, still thinking about wtc ad motors...

After several days i'm still at work. Made aluminium bushes for rudders and prop shafts with 2.3 mm inox steel.
This week i'm going to start with wtc end caps. I found those motors on rc-sub-workshop

Do you guys think are ok?
