    LOL.

    You tease!

    Lexan, ******! .... Lexan!!!

God, I hope Mike does not see the above post -- he gets a whiff of that kind of money next thing I know he's dragging my fat ass to every AMA convention on the planet, jabbing me in the ribs with a cattle-prod as he commands, "Dance, Monkey-Boy ... Dance!!!".

Actually, Ellie and I had a talk about the work-load the other day. She says she's never seen me happier. And she's right: In my 60's I'm finally getting up in the morning knowing I'll spend a good portion of the day doing what I've always wanted to do. And, being self-employed, I can take breaks and meals when they suit me.

Today I'm the top-guy in the r/c model submarine game in the US. Not bad. Brains, hard-work, good looks -- it's all finally paid off.

    Whine? No. Bragg'n!

I gotta throw a wrench in things. You make a beautiful device called an SD out of acrylic tube, electronics, air pumps and silicon. But, if you were to make a very similar device, and say name it for ED, you could be getting $1000 a copy from Medicare. Just Sayin!

Was that a hint of a whine in that voice?
Better not burn the candle on both ends. We need you to be around for a long time! Tell Mike you want a paid vacation. We will sit back and watch the fireworks. :-)

What's a Filipino doing in Nippon land? A little pay-back, maybe? Ellie says her brother still has some old Japanese ammo (small arms bullets and hand-grenades) left behind after the Emperor's troopies were shown the door back in the day.

No time yet to finish my Kilo.

Currently in the Land of the Rising Sun.

" Just put the half-way point along the fulcrum arm to the rack."

    No rack, M!!

Am planning on a piece of brass tubing "coined" on one end, where the dive plane control arms will connect,
"coined" again, in the "center" where the pivot point will come to be, and the bulb end of a pipette on the other end, which will provide the
floatation to operate the control arm "linkage"!

Really simple! Just hope it works as well as I think it will!!

Float-and-fulcrum fine. Just put the half-way point along the fulcrum arm to the rack.

And deployed, non-operational bow planes will do much to increase the boats response to stern plane position (see: Type-17).

Seems a little "overboard" for K.I.S.S.!?

I'm pretty confident that what I was thinking of doing'll work like a champ
for a "looks-like:works-like" scenario!!! After all, it is just for show!!

Also, really tight space up forward! The "float-and-fulcrum", now THAT, I got
    room for!!

A vertical rack and pinion may have not enough travel in such a small space.

Straight out is the goal; the two planes sharing the same horizontal plane. Duh! However, a bit of dihedral won't ruin my day.

Think: vertically oriented rack engaging small gear ganged to one of the two gears that mesh together to deploy/retract the struts. A float atop the rack, a weight at the bottom of the rack.

    Me much smart!

    Pretty fun, too, M!!

Question... Is there any advantage to a little dihedral on the planes? Or, maybe just perpendicular to the sides of the hull in that immediate area??
I'm not looking to run her at "warp" speed, so I'm guessing dihedral won't be a problem?

    Thanks, Redboat!!

Your suggestion is pretty much the way I was going to go! K.I.S.S. all the way!
