With a boat this size, trimming is really easy. I think I took the shot before everything settled. I love having the ability to go full negative with the tube. I use the ATV in the radio to make adjustments. One click on the ATV button, the piston moves about 1/16". My range is almost decks awash to sitting on the bottom. At surface trim, I can adjust about 1/2" up or down the waterline. Pretty slick.

Nice! I especially like the detail on the top of the sail. Its also really handy to have that much control over your diving, even with no forward motion.
IT TAKES GREAT INTELLIGENCE TO FAKE SUCH STUPIDITY!

Base black paint is fully cured and dull coated. Got the vinyl masks made for the torpedo door rings and demarcation lines. (no numbers) Tomorrow, I will start the hull color plating with 4 or 5 different shades of black like the conning tower. This is also a great way to touch up flaws or scratches on the main color. After that cures, I will strike the waterline and add some light marine growth. Plan is to run her at Cerritos Regional park this Sunday.

Got the waterline scum on the hull and finished up the white and orange details. The green is very subtle but I wanted to see If I could actually stop when I should with the weathering.

          Things left to do:

dry brushing flood vents, waterline touch up
          zincs around propeller
          install linkages and prop

Nice looking model. I particularly like your torpedo tube ring masks but how did you secure the center circle of the masks?

Ran the boat 3 times today. After some adjustments with Will, I am at about 95% trimmed. Did a few adjustments at home and couldn't be happier. It was really bright and hot today so the iphone shots are a bit hot. May get some better shots later today. Boat ran very well for the first time out. Second shot almost looks real.

                        Excellent!

                        What's actuating your scope?

Dave, slide in by hand. K.I.S.S. My club has a big issue with runaway boats, bad drivers and several Tupperware go fasts. The scopes have a 1/2 razor cut in them so they break off when there is a collision. It's going to happen soon.

Scope with a crumple-zone. Hey! .... you some kind of car engineer or something??

Yupe, better to have that scope fail rather than the sail

Yep, I cast up the tips to slide into standard alum. tubing. I have 3 backups for now. (all different lengths)
