Notice in the Fast turns, how she leans. Also under acceleration, notice the lean. A consequence of that huge propellor. I have seen this before on other subs, like Dave Santivanez large type 212.

The hull shape and aspect is almost identical to a 212 class. The sail and hydroplane arrangement is different however, but they should perform in a similar way in a straight line.

I cant get over those teeny weeny bow planes. Im sure that they were sized that way for a reason. Too bad the U class wasnt nuclear. Im sure they would have stayed in British service longer.

Same with the Swiftsure and Trafalgar classes, very small bow planes. I can only imgaine this is to cut down on noise, as they are very close to the sonar array. Earlier boats, and indeed later boats (Astute and Vanguard) have higher mounted planes like earlier British boats, and they are quite large.

In model form these small planes don't work very well, they only produce a very subtle pitching moment of force.

Here is a link to a article explaining the present state of readiness of the four U class boats in Canadian service. Looks like they will be there for a long time.
The Department of National Defense and the Canadian Armed Forces advise and support the Minister of National Defense and implement government decisions regarding the defense of Canadian interests at home and abroad.

Notice this picture of those teeny weeny bow planes. Note the grooves that they cut into the leading edge of them.

IT BEGINS !!! I placed the order this morning with OTW. The exchange rate fluctuates constantly. Such an unstable world we live in. As soon as I have an ETA Ill post it. Probably 4 to 6 weeks.

Sorry Dudes. Do to the recent loss of employment, I had to put this project on hold. Robert Dimmack of OTC models was very understanding and cooperative. Perhaps mid 2014 we can begin again.
