Silicone tubing is made to very tight tolerance, so the rollers should run straight and true.
Yep, Thats the way to go, The nice thing is that with the modular backplate, all sorts of methods can be tested and designed to fit. Now, where did I put that tubing:biggrin:

Just watched his mix-master .... er ... I mean RateMaster video. Wow!

Mark: I think what Mamas means is that the RateMaster, in surface trim, will work as a traditional paddle-wheel, thrusting in a lateral direction, yawing the boat like a thruster. Underwater the rotation should not contribute too much lateral (yawing) force -- other than a mild 'walking propeller' effect. But, the RateMaster will be turning at a much slower RPM than this. So, me thinks that other than the spectacle of it all, it will have little if any ship control result.

As Mamas has arranged the auxiliary drive shaft (for the RateMaster), I see no problem designing a motor bulkhead to accommodate both that output shaft and the PJ shaft. I see a smaller brushed motor working through a stacked planetary gear doing the work through an ESC Y-connected to the main ESC.

And I also watched the first in-water run of the SKY-DIVER hull. That thing scoots already, Mamas. It indeed will step up if you crank in the rated voltage. Wow! Fair off that blunt bow with a SKY and you're off to the races!

What I mean is that I need a motor that will do less RPM but with more strength so it spins more positively at a slower speed or a higher ratio Gearbox. The Ratemaster is in effect acting as a paddle steamer ie pulling it over whatever way the thing is spinning.

I need to find a higher wind motor with more torque, that should sort it. Yes the Ratemaster will have no effect on the speed however im pretty sure it will affect directional control at a high speed.

You mentioned in your video here that its too fast and that youll need to slow it down somehow. If the rate master is for appearances only then just variable speed it to however fast that you want it to turn. The real speed of the sub is determined by the jet drive, right?
