Swedish A26 or Orka or Blekinge-class - 3D Print to Launch

It has been awhile since I posted about a build and so it is overdue.
I got my 3D files from Nautilus Drydocks (https://www.rc-submarine.com/product...-in-1-72-scale)
This is a concept sub designed to replace the Walrus Class submarine (sniff, sniff) and I do love the Swedish designs. The fact that it showed up in Bob's catalogue of 3D subs was thrilling to me.
I upsized it to 1/66th scale or ~867mm or ~34" in length.

I made a modification to the bow. Split the bow so I could throw a screw up from underneath, but I have made another change to the aft end that (I will post later) I may not need to fasten the front down.

Using my 3D Walrus Propellor (I never used it because I had a brass prop made) and modified it for this sub. It has chunky blades and I do not mind. I am not sure of the performance as this was one of my first props I made in Fusion 360.

If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Good luck and success with your Swedish Model build. I have these stl files too. The A-26 STL Files are designed by Mr. Randy Sanders in Canada. Beautiful aren't they?

Are you writing you are replacing your Walrus Model with eh A-26? Or you are you saying the Dutch Navy is replacing the Walrus class with the A-26?

If the later, here is an update of the Netherlands replacement submarine program. The Swedish are continuing with their A-26 after much controversy. the Dutch have selected the Orka class they call them now. The proposed Orka now actually looks like a AIP version of a Suffren Class French SSN.

Its too complicated in the national political legal financial corporate wranglings to describe all the back and forth between Sweden, Norway, Germany to describe here. You can look it up.Orka-class submarine - Wikipedia

If you aren't happy with your prop planned for your A-26, may I suggest an excellent source for high-quality timely model sub props Mr. Keith Bender. Here is the Améthyste SSN prop Keith made for me in a only two weeks! My old English source for props I have had to sadly forsake, because they don't even reply to my emails in 2 weeks (if ever!)

Below is a Los Angeles class Flight 1 prop made by Keith bender made for good friend Jeff Apps new USS Dallas.

Thank you! I was not clear, my Walrus is not being replaced just adding to my fleet. The 1:1 version is scheduled for replacement.
Since we are talking about my Walrus, it sports a Keith Bender prop! I have had a couple of props done by him. This sub may have one too in the future.

I started to make this same boat in 1/96 but I didn't realize how small it is! I'm still working on making a 2" cylinder for it.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.

My A-26 STL files are in 1/48. Here are two images of files composited together of the cool distinctive sail shape. Sweden Navy has ordered two. Polish Navy has ordered three subs. SAAB re bought Kockums back from ThyssenKrupp of Germany in 2015, and is again independent and Swdish.

I am not building a A-26 at present but may sometime in the future. Focusing now on my French models, assisting what I can in Marimans CB sub model and in the near future an American 1st generation SSN in 1/48. That's enough for this lifetime to me.

You have a full dance card! I do not think about all the subs I need to build, so we will work one sub at a time.

This is a roomy sub. As it is, I am installing a 3.5" WTC taking my cylinder out of the Alpha to use for this sub.
There are some additional pieces I made for this build, the scopes. How they will be arranged or even exactly what will be used is not certain.
here are the scopes I did create:

There was an article saying a manufacturer got the contract and these scopes are what they manufacture.

I am sure much of what is going on and in this sub is classified, so all I can do is use the images they supply and imagination to make mine semi-accurate.
From what I can see, these scopes (radar, optronic scopes) are in an inline arrangement. U.S. subs seem to set up scopes side by side or in pairs, that does not seem to be in this design.

I have built most of the sub so I will play catch up as best as I can. I did not take a lot of photos so hopefully I can make up for that.
