Thanks Bob. I really like how it turned out. Here is a shot of it when I was applying the clear coat. Kind of the dockside check out what I caught shot.

OK. It's Halloween time. Grab an old car license plate, hammer the **** out of it. Smear it with red 'blood'. Dawn your Quint garb, hang your shark over a scale, and scare the poop out of the neighbor kids as you wave the license plate in their pudgy little faces, screaming, "you're next... you little *******s... your next!"

And roll tape, I wanna see this!

Way too long overdue but working on the slots. I have reaquainted myself with my 3D printer, slicer and Fusion 360. It's amazing how much I have forgotten. I am just trying to take slow steady bites.

Port side slots are basically done. What a PITA!

Yup, those type VII boats keep you busy, walked the same way in the past.
Wait untill you have to make the drainholes under the waterline, those are fun(not).

An attempt at a bit of kit bashing of sorts. The resin printed sail was too wide and quite heavy. I wanted to use the photo etched brass from the kit but needed to re-print the sail narrower. Narrowing the lower portion of the sail worked to fit the brass for it but the round area for the 20mm gun was then too narrow. Printed a separate base for the gun deck that fit the brass and cut the gun deck base from the main part of the sail. The new sail is printed from ABS and is much lighter than the resin one. There is some blending to do under the gun deck but not much. I plan to make all of the hand rails from brass and utilize much of the kits resin detail inside the sail.


Meanwhile I am designing and printing hull spacers to make the photo etched brass deck fit proper and be straight on the hull.
