Between today and yesterday I cobbled together a few things here. I wrapped the Lipo in Sorbothane as you can see here to try to keep vibrations at bey. I attached the ADF2 to the top front of the Lipo and the supporting wires with CA and a wire tie. The bellcrank assm. I fashioned out of thin brass strip and silver soldered a foot on it and CAed it to the back of the Subdriver motor bulkhead. Itll transfer forward the motion of the servo to move the sail rudder. Ill adjust the locations the pushrods are attached in the servo arms and rudder arm to change movement amounts of the rudder.

Continuing on with this thing. Im am presently working in the front battery compartment where I am locating the ADF. I am mounting it to the top of the 3s Lipo battery and applying sorbothane to the battery at every place it touches the Subdriver walls. Then attaching battery hold downs so that the Lipo stays put and doesnt throw off the CG. Then we will commence on the bellcrank assm. to transfer the pushrod forward that will operate the sail rudder.

At one time I was reduced to building models from broom-stick material (in the salvage-pump engine maintenance cage, deep in the bowels of the USS RECOVERY, doing Mediterranean cruises when I was a wild-ass sailor type).

You got the right attitude, Mark. Keep on swinging, pal!

    David ... you're buddy

AH, my Moms carport. Sad to see how far I have fallen. I used to have a two car garage with building tables and vises and every tool almost known to Man. I also had my work place at work with plenty of space and more than anything I could possibly need.................................Now.......... .................Ive been reduced to Moms carport and a small storage shed...........................but at least I can work here in Peace. And Im having fun.

Today I spent some time on dis-assembling the old gas ballast system from the old unit and installing it in the new Lexan tube. I scribed center-lines and radial marks to assure plum and precise location of bulkheads and other necessary stuff. Its coming along.

Here's another way to skin this cat.

This is an X tail pitch controller with servo throw and reversing built in. I have one in a 212 and it works very well.

I ended up needing to use this servo reverser on one of the two servos involved in the x-tail circuit. Orientation of the servos is critical to proper operation. Since I had to re-arrange the configuration on this go around, it became necessary. I may yet need another one on the sail rudder servo since it will be operated off of ch.1, which will also operate one of the x-tail servos. Since that is the case, servo reversing using the radio wont work.Click image for larger version
