    Release the Kraken

Kraken lineup. 1/72 Akula I. 1/72 Echo II. 1/72 Alfa. Also working on a 1/72 Japanese Kaidai type VI and a 1/72 Japanese type B1. How's that for a Kraken lineup? Guess I better get to Kraken.

Put it on the back burner for a while. Thing was so big I could make 2 molds for the size of the Yankee. Plus Echo II way more sinister looking.

At least I am building some new boats and the molds. Show me who has built more boat molds than me?

Enough! Poop something out we can use. Then we'll talk.

Have to admit. I have made some pretty bizarre boat molds. I will be pooping some molds out soon.

Excellent. Indeed you have. And you do very good work. Looking forward to your next release, sir. I have your 1/72 VICTOR-3 and the GRP layup and finish is top-drawer. An ECHO-2 would be a stunning display.

I got awesome detailed drawings from my guy Boris in Russia. This Alfa is going to be the Alfa to have. Echo has lots of detail. Not going to mold the blast deflectors in the upper hull. Will cast those out of resin because there was no way I was going to try to mold those deflectors with cloth.

I'm with you on the ALFA project: The current 1/72 kit is flawed as it was designed a long time ago when almost all the detailing was guess-work. But, with Boris' drawings (having seen his work, I am most confident that this will be a killer representation of that boat), and your attention to detail, your ALFA kit will be a must-have.

Agreed on part substrate and arrangement proposed for the ECHO-2. Those deep-well thrust deflectors are eye-catchers. How are you going to handle the sail leading-edge radar mechanism?

The plans I used on the Alfa 6 years ago were the Deep Sea Designs. Also if I remember correctly those plans have the Alfa at 42" instead of the 44.5". I don't have those plans anymore so if someone has them go check.

Yeah, those were a bit flawed -- I assisted Greg with those. The currently available 1/72 kit was mastered by Greg, and went through several hands before -- and I may be mistaken here -- becoming one of the commercially available kits produced by Mat Thor.
