I'd be all over a Holland boat!

OR... we could all get together and try to knock out the X Craft that I have the master hull patterns for. Might be a good start to see how the process goes as the hull is done. It would need all the detail parts documented, drafted, and mastered, as well as hull scribing. It's really basic right now, but if we invested in rubber molds, we could do weld lines, rivets, etc, too.

Good thing about that is that it's a very different boat with no current market offerings (as the Holland would be) and it seems to have a strong opportunity, particularly with our UK modeling friends across the pond....

I'm sold if this is Mr. Pool's work. Yes, a big X-Craft is worth the investment into production of a glove-mother mold type tool -- our recent experience developing lay-up techniques with the FFOG project points to adoption of those same methods used successfully to capture all details, no matter the size or draft for the X-Craft project.

I can do the hull tool and propeller. Draft Bart or Scott for the appendages. We need a good sculptor -- I want a Compton-Hall figure topside strapped to the snorkel mast!

The author and former Director of the British submarine museum. As a young man he commanded one of the 'improved' X-Craft. I believe this was post-war.

Don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but AFAIK, the Alan Poole X-craft is being reintroduced by Adam Slater at Mountfleet models.

As ECHO was one of the three 'Hen's', why not go with the source: First, the NOVEMBER class. and work up the ECHO, HOTEL kits from there?

If it's in 72nd scale, I've already got access to Tim Cobb's work via Don. We could offer that hull with upgraded appendages? Could also possible work with Don to remaster the hull with additional scribing and details for you rivet-counters out there.

I've got stock of the kits at the shop. It would be a really quick project if there's interest.

I did all the detail parts for the old 1/72 ALFA produced by Sharpe and later Thor. That tooling is in hand. Here's some of that work:













Though the same scale as the Sharpe/Thor kit, Tim's effort will invariably have slightly different contours. I'll need a copy of that hull to modify the control surfaces and propeller to fit, and from those reworked masters, make new tooling. And I recommend we consolidate the horizontal and vertical stabilizers to the tail-cone -- will make for a much more friendly project for the customer than if he's tasked to align and affix those surfaces himself.

When you did the above post I assumed you were referring to a 1/96 scale kit. Yes, I have appendages and tooling for an ALFA in both scales. Sorry for the confusion.
