    How to operate another motor for an accessory in right stick up/down

    I need help. I am building a boat which I want to operate a motor on ch2 (right stick, up/down) maybe up is one rotation, down is opposite. What do I need?
    I think I have to get a second ESC such MTroniks Viper 10 marine to which i can hook up this motor? or is there another way? Appreciate any suggestion. Thanks in advance. Happy New Year to all.

      I think KevinMc makes a Throttle Jockey that will achieve this.

          Having a hard time following what you need to happen (maybe I'm missing something). Isn't this just a job for a standard speed controller? You want this channel to operate like your main throttle? Are you running twin motors and want independent control?

          If so, the throttle jockey would do the trick, and save you a channel. It connects to your rudder control so that when you command a turn the motors vary in output to assist, even to the point of reversing completely when "hard over".

          I've got these in stock and ready to go if you need one.

              Yes you can use a speedcontroller on a different channel, but it would be wise to use a geared motor for this with a low turning-ratio, cranes are not made for whipping cream.
              This can be solved by using end-switches, so only one rotation can be possible, this way you can use the ESC to control the speed at which it will turn

                  Wow, I missed that one. For that matter, a crane wench, you can modify a servo to turn continually and no ESC, but I think you are right Bob, it is confusing.
                  If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

                      Thank you all for the comments. I wanted to turn a sail mast using a capstan. I made a gear train reducer to slow down the motor but it was a nightmare with so many gears. Since I am not really turning more than 45 degrees each way, the servo method was the best way. I mounted a gear on the servo and mast. I could alter the ratio for movement range. Simple. Thanks again. Thanks Trout for the clue.
