Regarding the price suggested by Dave. Whatever the price of this kit will be or any kit for that mater, it generally reflects what is invested in marketing a model product.
As an example; It would not take as much time to make a hull and sail master with no fine scribed detail. {To use hard shell molds that do not capture the fine detail that rubber can (molding rubber at $200 a gallon) the time to master all the fine detail parts and work out all the linkages to make a proper kit and all the molds to make them.}
All that time and materials comes at a cost. In my experience, (my first ship model many years ago was a “BaD Ship Models” Kit). It may have been a cheaper kit but the time and frustrations of dealing with a low quality kit are costly also. Just not in dollars up front.
I would rather spend more money up front for a well designed and detailed kit, but that is me. As in life, all things are not for all people. I would say that this soon to be kit as it were is for those that feel the same.
I would wager that well designed kits like this one are far more likely to be finished and running in the water than a builder becoming frustrated and it never gets completed.

Honestly, I do not believe any justification is needed. If someone does not know what goes into making it, then ads or promotion, pictures, and description can do that, but anyone who does not know that there are costs involved (as well as a return on investment) maybe will be in a shock no matter what the price is. Quality adds to the cost. The Mona Lisa if we just broke down costs, it is maybe $100in material to make. If I painted a Mona Lisa, it would be a face, but I guarantee it would not capture the details and subtle colors that Leonardo would. The value of the two would be drastically different.

Whenever possible, as I glue two large assemblies together, I either secure them with straps that cross the seam with screws, or with machine screws running through hull and flange. Once the glue/resin has cured hard the heads of the screws are heated with a pre-heated screwdriver tip to break the bond and the screws are removed.
