Now with the October NC 'fleet-run' coming up -- an event for only 1/96 and 1/100 scale model boats -- I thought I would finish this beast. Configured as my old ride, the DANIEL WEBSTER -- with bow planes -- I'm about ready to install the SD and get this beast wet.
I know you mentioned two events in your neck of the woods that time of year. Please post both sets of dates at your earliest so we can plan in advance. I'm probably the only one in my little group o' nerds still working for the man and need to accommodate PTO for it lol.

The only other 'local' event we make is the NC 'fleet run', which is strictly only 1/96 and 1/100 scale. If you bring anything else you will be killed and eaten on the spot! Here's the dope on that event, and a video I shot of one a few years back:

The screeding I helped Sam with on the small Skipjack. What was the ah-ha moment is the scopes and understanding why you did what you did with the brass and plans. it is simple and I dod not think I would have ever thought of doing what you did. Thank you!
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.Comment

Yeah, doing the model work, some of it based on my old Qual notes, is sometimes surreal: I study the masts and antennas as I make my model-building moves, and I remember questions from my Board (final qualification test that if passed, certifies you 'qualified in submarines') about the function and operation of those retractable antennas and optics. God! That was nearly half a century ago!
I've got some production work to knock out for Bob, then after that I jump in on your NOVEMBER sail: straighten that up a bit, and outfit its bridge and work out the scopes and antennas unique to that boat. Looking forward to that. And I'm lov'n what you've done with the hull. You do good work (ass-kissing mode: off).
