Now, THAT's the way to present an entry into this contest. Well done sir!

I love that little boat ... must have .... one .... NOW!

Could use a bit more weathering, but who really knows -- as far as I know none of those boats made it to the Fleet. Below are some shots of a Bob Wallace 1/16 KAIRYU I assembled and weathered a number of years ago:

    David,

Thank you, praise indeed. I remeber seeing your Kairyu build and the weathering. I would like one of those too. the white/grey streaking looks very effective. I must dig out the Cabal and have a read

As with Thresher, need some natural sunlight shots to make this look , like it really does

Very, very good job there -- a vast improvement over your initial THRESHER weathering effort.

Been a while since I’ve been on here, in the mean time I’ve moved back across the globe to UK. Slowly unboxing various projects and hobby parts. Over the Christmas period I bought myself a 3d printer, and learnt the basics of fusion360. Very very useful tool and proving to be easier to create my own designs than I had imagined. Anyway first sub project is to recommission the Koryu I had dismantled the tech rack prior to the move and the parts were everywhere. Over the past 2 weeks I managed to find the parts and print myself a new tech rack and stand for the tech rack. Yesterday connected up power and plugged in the extra connections. Everything functions some testing required and need to get servo end stops set up. I’ve fitted a brushless ESC and now need to update the stern portion with servos and brushless motor. It’s quite cramped so I’ve been putting it off for a while.

What is going on with this page? Now we got posts from 16 years ago showing up with no rhyme or reason as to why. Albion hasn’t posted here since 2022.
Of the approximately 40,000 men who served on U-boats in WWII, it is estimated that around 28,000 to 30,000 lost their lives.

I think he updated his thread under a new user name- Andy B, most likely added attachments, and it’s got snagged in the new system set up to try and deal with the spambots. I’m sure Bob will deal it in due course.

Correct. Andy B made a post that got flagged as spam, so it hid the post while it waited for me to approve it, but it resurrected the thread in the meantime. Everything is working as it should

I thought it was another spamming event. I didn’t see a new date. I’m ready to see some new boats for this winter. Anyone?

I made the post from my phone and maybe due to signal strength it double posted, hence the deleted post, that probably further confirmed me as a bot, apologies
