As I got my new big ass 3D printer, its time to get back to printing. Getting closer to making the new and better hull parts for a I-400. This is the front of the conning tower without the aircraft door on. There are 3 parts to the conning tower this is part one with a length of 276mm. Yes that means the conning tower alone would be about 732mm. This just came off the resin printer and I have not sanded yet. The scale is 1/48, and no I am not building a 1/48, I just going for a 1/72 for myself. but some crazy person, who I wont name, may build that big. I used Elegoo ABS like resin, but ran out and had to switch to Siraya Tech ABS like resin. That is why you see 2 different colors.

Ok here is my 1/72 scale full conning tower without the front door for my Japanese I-400. I put it of the top deck I just reprinted also. This is for my own RC build. Nothing is glued or sanded yet. Next to update my designs for higher quality front door, all the masts and conning tower detail and then the AA guns, the joy. Dam more hard work. If I could remember who got me into RC subs, I would have a hard word with them.

No the thingiverse conning tower is not as smooth or have a deck. Here is the rest of the whole hull of the I400. The Hull in white in the picture below is a new design I made. Nothing in the pictures has been sanded as of yet. Also this is a picture of my last print. I am reprinting all the stuff as a Japanese guy bought my last print off me.
On a side note I redid the hull of the thingiverse one to make it look better for a friend. I smoothed the hull inside and out, made the wall thickness thicker, cut out all the flood vents, added new flood vent on the bottom of the hull, added dive plane and rudder mounting hole, add dive shaft holes and some other stuff. I may post that when my friend has has sub done.
