Paper templates were made -- several attempts needed -- and then used to cut out the two levels of windows. The templates guided me where to crease the clear parts for a tight fit to the inside of the bow.
I kept the forward underside of the bow 'wild' -- retaining the ability to remove it to get access to the bows interior for later detailing. Retention of this part was achieved by the use of some kick-ass magnets.
The only major flaw to the kit parts was a 'dip' to the keel near the bow. Bondo to the rescue!
Transverse reinforcement pin to prevent future cracking at this point.
The styrene kit supplied search-light guard would never service handling and pool and lake collisions. They would break if you talked to them harshly! I fixed that!
