The Parnall Peto was a small seaplane designed to Air Ministry specification 16/24 in the early 1920s for use as a submarine-carried reconnaissance aircraft....
The M class submarines were all freaks. one was supposed to be a battleship and the other an aircraft carrier. They both were useless and sank with all hands...
That's interesting footage of the launch & retrieval of the seaplane. Knowing how the Japanese followed the Royal Navy, I would not be surprised if M2 wasn't an inspiration for the J1M type & later aircraft carrying cruiser subs.
