This is better than working in the salt mines as you get to see daylight. Got to go out for part 1 of 2 of working on finishing the deck at our other house in Tennessee. Last year we stripped the paint off the lower deck, built part of it and the lower part of the stairs, then properly stained it. This year get to do the upper balcony with the added bonus of building a handrail that amazingly was never there. Never did before, so modeling skills along with previous experience with working with Greek construction crews paid off. We had planned on replacing one plank, but wound up replacing all but two of the them. So didn't get to work at all on stripping. That's okay, I'm going to have a lot of help next time. I've got my salt mine whip ready :) Did watch the long-version of 'Das Boot' over a few nights. Everyone was gone, so got to enjoy it all myself.
