Problem with speed controllers

Hi, I hope someone can help. Set up. One mtroniks viper marine controller running two motors, both motors running in both directions. One viper marine controller running two water pumps plus supplying power to receiver. This second controller has had the red wire removed. Both controllers have their own battery. Problem is that the pumps only go in one direction. I have removed both speed controllers from the Wtc and connected two new motors and a new pump ( I only have one space pump) and all work ok. But the controllers back in the model pump only one direction again. I have followed the mtroniks set up countless times with no joy. Anyone have any ideas, thanks

Some pumps (centrifugal and diaphragm for example) pump in only direction regardless of shaft direction of rotation). Maybe that's the issue?

Mtroniks makes a dual speed control designed specifically for running two motors off of one esc. Can you verify:

1) You have one esc controlling two pump motors - correct?
2) When you tested outside the wtc it was connected to only one pump motor- correct?
3) You are 100% certain the pumps are reversible/ correct?
3) are you using Mtroniks dual esc or the usual mono esc?

If you are using the dual, I had one with similar issues for a tug. After numerous phone calls with the supplier we agreed the esc had a problem and it was returned. Subsequently I now always use one esc for each motor or pump.

Thanks for your interest out there. Well today I found the problem and learned a lesson. I inherited this part wired and build Wtc. The builder is a dyed in the wool submarine builder with a few great builds under his belt. So it was a great surprise when after weeks of hair pulling ( and I don’t have a lot too pull) I found the problem. So some reason he had wired the negative side of one of the pumps to the battery and the negative of the second pump. For why I can’t understand. So disconnected from the battery, both pumps worked in both directions. I should have checked all the wiring not just trusting that his was good. Thanks again.
