    ADF Question

Kevin, How does it work? If you go to a clear deep spring and you do a deep dive, what does the ADF do? While you are manually controling your dive with the stern planes, does the ADF stay hands off until the stern planes stick is not moved by you for more than 5 sec. or does it only come back on after you return to nuetral? In other words at what point does the ADF take back control and try to level your sub?

    Hi Mark,

Neither - it's actually always trying to level the sub but when you deflect the stick the "levelling command" is reduced in proportion to your pitch command so you can over-ride the levelling effect. Try it sometime - Have someone apply a dive or rise command on the planes, then (out of the water) pick up your boat and pitch it up and down and you'll see the effect. Try the same with half-rise/half-dive.
