    Making hatches, doors etc.

I've found a really easy way to make small hatches for GRP models using some roofing flashing aluminum.

Trace the outline of the hatch on the aluminum and cut it out with a pair of scissors.
To make the rivet or nuts around the edge, just use a small hex key and press it into the aluminum . You may need to give it a light tap with a small hammer to emboss the hex shape. This is best done on top of a piece of wood, so the key can press into it.

Wire wool the underside of the hatch and glue into place with epoxy or CA and paint. They look pretty neat!
Stop messing about - just get a Sub-driver!
