Sounds great to me! I was invited here by an email from Mr. Caswell. I'm working on an M-1 which will be armed with a spurt cannon. Has anybody else managed an armed sub in 1/144?

Subs in Model Warship Combat

I think I'm okay for now. I'll try to post pictures as the project develops. Is anybody else working on arming a sub in 1/144?
In 2007 I made an historic successful forward run during the MWC National Championship Campaign event with a captured Type XXI, HMS N-41. She took two hits below the waterline and her superstructure was shot off.
In 2008 the same vessel made successful forward and reverse runs taking only one hit below the waterline. (Black paint made her harder to see)

Gun Calibers
Since Subs are not used in the fast gun community , Big Gun Warships in the 144 scale use these calibers . less than 7.99 inch .177 caliber. 8 inch to 10.9inch is 3/16 caliber , 11 inch to 14.99 is 7/32 caliber and 15 inch and above is 1/4 inch . These are ball bearings. A sub may have as many tubes as the original and as many torpedoes as the original. a deck gun would be as the original and not a spurt gun. because there are rules on scale timed fire. for example a bb deck gun would fire once every 2 seconds. and a Torpedo from the same tube would fire every 30 seconds . This represents the scale time to reload.

I'm still building HMS M1 with a BB cannon. I've already had sea trials and it is completely do-able. My only impediments are the lack of an upper hull and motivation. :)
