The D-Day museum in New Orleans has a super model display of all of Higgins boats. He's a real hero down here.

These picture are from the Bow. Next time I'm in New Orleans I'll get side and stern shots.

There is also a big model display of all the boats that Higgins made to the left side of the pictures I posted. I'll also get some good shots of that display. Maybe even this next coming Wednesday.

Looks like its an offshoot of Higgin's Eureka boat that the USMC & Brits used.

                      Hi Slats
it will not appeal to all. I am going to use it for a rescue tug. you need a log to push a boat back to shore! LOL!!!!!!

So true or in the case of subs you sometimes need a boat to push your black log back to shore.

Yep - that is so true. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I like it. Keep me posted on your build. I have a very good friend that does tours of the New Orleans D-Day museum and asked if I could take some movies and pictures (It's forbidden) of the Higgins display. He said he would work it out for me. I'll be sure you (cconell) get a copy.

I saw 1 last year in a museum
they were interesting wee boats built in 2 halves for transport by trucks
then used to assemble pontoon bridges.

This year on a trip to Arnhem in holland 1sailed down the Rhine nearly 70years after being built!!!
