Receiver antenna

Should the receiver antenna wire be shortened prior to attaching the lead to the WTC connection or should it be left coiled in the WTC and just connect it? Seems like its just useless extra wire in the WTC and it would not improve reception. I have a saltwater pool and reception currently is only good for two feet deep. Not that I miss anything by going deeper...

you can cut the extra wire off.the salt water will mess with your signal it cant punch through salt water.as per the wizard
