    ROV for fish detection (5 - 20m)

    Hello everybody,

I am new to the community and I came to the topic through fishing. My child and me didn't catch any fish so there came up the idea of having a ROV to reach out for the best places to catch some fish. So I got into research and ended up here. Bought already the book and went through it which is very helpfull already. From the cylinders it shouldn't be a problem. I was about to go for the polycarbon tube but from the book I changed my opinion and will got for acrylic.
Inner parts and maybe the caps might be printed on my Creality K1C. To dive I will go for the piston setup since I think it should be the easiest way to build up.

I am mainly worried about the sealings because of the depth we want to go. And of course for the control which I would like to realize by WiFi, because long ROV-cables are expensive and we need a camera-feed to see the fish.

Did anyone build a ROV like that and has some tricks to share? We would appreciate a lot.
I am going to share the progress and maybe also open a youtube-channel therefore.

I might be wrong, but you don't need a submarine to build a fish-finding vessel equipped with a fish finder.

I built a radio-controlled boat for my father, equipped with a fish finder.

It also dropped bait for the fish at the point where it was brought.

I think a boat is the best solution for this purpose.

      Hello CollectiveBorg,

thank you for your answer. You are right, that would be a lot more easy.
Probably it is more a reason to build a submarine ;)
